Bahçeşehir University (BAU) eSports and gaming computer hardware manufacturer ASUS’ Republic of Gamers (ROG) have signed a deal. According to the agreement, which will last for two years, ASUS will provide equipment and PC lab for the e-sports team of the university.
ASUS Country Manager Özge Güler Kılıç: “ASUS is one of the biggest names in the hardware market in Turkey. With Republic of Gamers (ROG) and with deals we have made, we are aiming to develop and support the e-sports as well as e-atheletes in Turkey. We believe that bringing qualified labor force to the e-sports ecosystem and increasing career prospects are of great value. It is also very important that academic institutions showing interest in this field and supporting education. In this sense, we are very happy to support BAU eSports in future tournaments and leagues. Our cooperation with them will further strengthen the e-sports in Turkey and will provide more career opportunities. ”
The head of the Bahçeşehir University (BAU) Board of Trustees, Enver Yücel: “E-sports and the market it created alongside have become one of the indispensable elements for the digital generation of people. BAU sees and supports e-sports like other sports. In this direction, we gave scholarships to talented e-atheletes in order to make e-sports professional and academic. Now, with the support and cooperation of ASUS, we want to be the world’s leading universities in the field and bring new players to this ecosystem. Our goal is to ensure Turkey to have a say in the world in this area” he said.
