Bahçeşehir University, which played a pioneering role in our country with its undergraduate programs for the game design field, hosted an important meeting. The Istanbul meetings of GAMEHIGHED, a 3-year program connecting 4 universities that offer game design education, took place at Bahçeşehir University‘s Bahçeşehir University Gaming Lab (BUG). The meetings were attended by academics and industry veterans.
Funded under Erasmus+, this is a strategic partnership constituted of five parties:
- Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz, Poland (Coordinator)
- University of Jyvaskyla, Finland
- Charles University, Czechia
- Bahcesehir University, Turkey
- Czech Game Developers Association
The 3-day meeting series saw discussions about topics such as Esports in Turkey, VR First BAU Lab works, and TOGED Industry Panel. The attendants also paid a visit to Cultic Games studio. The speaker list of the meetings included academics such as Güven Çatak, Çakır Aker, Barbaros Bostan, Yavuz Samur from Bahçeşehir University, and industry veterans such as Erkan Bayol, Tuğbek Ölek and Can Oral.
The project also finances four collaborative study visits to universities, six exchange of long-term lecturers, and the publication of projects across four countries. In addition, all of the projects that will emerge at the end of this process will be published on the E + Project Results Platform.
