As it’s just been revealed in Melbourne International Games Week, Steam reaches 90M monthly active users (MAU). When compared to last year numbers, 67M MAU, it has grown by 23M in a year.
The statistics revaled in Melbourne International Games Week are not limited with MAU only; Valve estimated that daily active users exceed 47M compared to 33M last year and the highest concurrent users reached 18.5M with the popularity of PUBG in January.
According to the analysts in China, the main reason behind this spike is mainly the result of the gamers who started using Steam officially. Localised games, local payment options and the games’ been banned in China before which are now playable on Steam might scale up the MAU significantly.
